natural sugars?

i have a 24g a day limit for my sugars.. now i always go over because i have porridge for breakfast with raisins which has 18g of sugar (just from the raisins) and then if i have another piece of fruit i'll go over!

Are these sorts of sugars worth ignoring on my goals as they're natural? Or are they just as bad in the long run?

I'm really not sure. HELP!

There is a lot of debate/opinions on this. My own personal preference is to group all sugars together as one item that I don't need in my diet and then limit accordingly -- that has worked for me. Experiment and find out what works for you.

A lot of foods, including veggies, have natural sugars, so it doesn't take much to reach the limit amount. If all your sugars are coming from veggies/fruit/whole foods and you are still losing weight, I would give yourself a bit of wiggle room...at least that has worked well for me.

Would be interest to know what other people do with this...
