Hey there,

Im obviously new to this site and the biggest challenge I'm finding is incorporating the correct amount of protein into my diet. Im not one for much meat, and I don't like most dairy or fish so I find this hard to accomplish. I work out quite a bit and Im afraid that the lack of will hurt me in the long run.
My recommended intake is 62g a day, I always seem to fall to at least 20 short.
Any suggestions out there?
Is it really going to affect anything?

Thanks!
-Megan

i want to recommend beans, not just for the protein, but they are also great for fiber :)

you could try cottage cheese and putting fruit into it

nuts, especially almonds - though watch the serving size as they are high calorie as well

I just read that drinking Ice Water, instead of tap water will burn an addtional 9 calories per glass. So, drink up! Add Ice! Make it worth it!!! :drinker: :drinker: :drinker:

special k protein water is great. I am drinking the tropical blend and its good.
  • I'm like you--not big on meat but have seen what high protein can do for you body. I add soy protien powder to my oatmeal or yogurt when I'm low. You can get chocolate or vanilla. Make a protien shake with fruits or 1/2 banana and peanutbutter (my fave) with the protien powder. Also realize that just one small chicken breast or 5 slices of deli turkey has around 30 grams of protien. Try to get at least one f those in a day.
