Why doesn't MFP deduct calories for Strength Training exerci

It only seems to register Cardio as 'proper' exercise which warrants a bigger calorie allowance. A 'rigorous' Strength Training workout, such as for example Starting Strength would burn a ball park figure of 250-350 calories, so what about those calories? Don't they count?
