Low Carb and Calories

I try and limit my carb/sugar intake, I don't go totally zero, but definitely try and keep it low. Does anyone else do this and if so, how do you get all your calories in? You can check out my food diary and see what I am doing. I workout a lot. I teach group fitness and am doing Turbo Fire and run a few days a week. I love to workout, so that is why I do all of it. I know I need to add more veggies and I usually do, today is just a bit hectic.

Thank you

    Your diary isn't public.

Also, cycling your carbs is a very effective way in burning fat as well. It's even better if you do pump training while going low carb so you burn the muscle glycogen out of your body, then have refeed days where you stock up on carbs to replenish.

    Very effective.
  • I thought my diary was public, it must be just to my friends. I'll send a request, check it out if you don't mind. I am interested in the carb cycling.

I went no carb for a while. Hovering just above ketosis. It was really tough! Especially playing ice hockey. Couldn't take it so my trainer put me on a low carb plan with 1 cheat meal a week. Much better!! joejccva71 is dead on. Cycling carbs seems much better. I carb load on hockey days and the day after to build up glycogen. Then the rest of the week i try to stay as low carb as possible without feeling "sick." I workout in the gym 6 days a week, play hockey twice a week, and bike ride for 20+ miles once a week. So, there are quite a few times when I hit carb rage and have to eat em! But for the most part I do well eating a lot of proteins and green veggies.
  • Thank you for all the tips. I did go back and look, I could definitely add a few nuts today, more raw veggies and hummus and some avocado. I am having good success with weight loss and getting the muscle definition that I want, I just hear so many people talk about not getting enough calories, going into starvation mode and messing up your metabolism.

I load carbs on before and after workout.
For some reason I don't like the smell/taste of coconut oil.
I ended use it on my face instead of digest it. :)
I do like coconut drink/milk tho.

I have the opposite problem. I have been known to dip into the jar and eat it plain.
