Lean Cuisine Debacles

I recently purchased a few Lean Cuisines to keep on hand for when my family insists on eating crap. For the first two that I made, I cooked them on the lowest amount of time listed on the package, and both times they were overcooked to the point of inedible. (I know, it is crazy it took two times, but I thought maybe the first time I got distracted or something.) So, tonight I cooked another Lean Cuisine for HALF of the time listed on the package and it turned out perfectly. Please tell me, does everyone have these types of problems with frozen meals or am I in possession of a super sonic microwave???

you probably have a well powered microwave. just cook them for less time as you already did and all is well

Make sure you are using the correct power setting. I eat the Lean Cuisine Swedish Meatballs frequently. The instructions say to cook at 50% power for 4 minutes, stir, then cook for another 2.5-3 minutes at 50% power. They always come out good.
  • check the watts of your micro and compare to the watts on the frozen food package... chances are your micro has a high watt so you should cook the food less.
  • My new microwave usually takes more time!! Consider yours a luck out!123460.png

you have to pay attention to the power. a lot of them say 50% power at 8 minutes or what have you. if you cooked them for 4 minutes on full power, it would be the same thing but you risk the chance of it not tasting as good, etc.
