I have been analyzing how this whole weight loss thing goes down, and you know what I've discovered?
It's all about the FIGHT!!!!!!! How hard are you willing to fight your desires? How bad do you rrrrrrreeeeeeeaaaalllllllyyyyyyyy want to shed the freaky bulge? How much are you willing to sacrifice?
Yea.
I said SACRIFICE!!!!!!!!!
Put the second helping down. Stop making excuses... It was their birthday, I just HAD to have a piece of cake! I deserve this because I've been working SO hard. I'm really hungry today so I need to eat more (cough cough, candy).
C'mon, people. I tell myself the same lies. It is a lie we readily believe. So, stop it! Really! Stop lying! I use child metaphors often, but let me put it to you gently now... If my son or daughter lies to me they are punished immediately. They are sent to their room, have to stand in a corner, write sentences, grounded, whatever it takes to help them understand that lying is wrong. So, you think it's different for your mind? No way, Jose. You basically need to ground yourself. Say NO everytime you reach for something you know in your heart you should not be reaching for. Tell yourself it is wrong and pointless. I tell my son that lying is pointless and he'll always get found out. Do you honestly think that hiding behind closed doors, not logging your actual food intake, sneaking piece after piece into your mouth is going to go unnoticed?
The rest of the world may not see it, but you do everytime you look in the mirror, don't you? You may try to lie to yourself, but your body never will... the truth always comes out.
So.... back to the topic of conversation... how do you defeat this nasty lie? You fight it with all your might. Beat the heck out of those lies and fight them with the truth you know in your heart.
This is a battle you CAN (and will) win. So. Don't give up. Keep strong, keep motivated, watch your opponent (weight gain, fatty foods, lies) and stand your ground.

Excellent post. Now start passing that advice along...there's alot of people with excuses and 'diets' out there you need to get to before I do.
