Hi-
Our leader has a long day today and asked that someone start a challenge for the week, and keep it fairly easy. So, here goes.

Each day through Tuesday, we will add 10 minutes of activity to our day. It can be 10 more minutes of exercise at home or the gym or a 10 minute walk or going up and down the stairs for 5 minutes twice a day. It just has to be IN ADDITION to what you would have done anyway. That will add 50 minutes to this week. Not a lot, but every little bit helps.

Good luck!

I just got a pedometer and I'm gonna try to get that thing up as high as possible today. So an extra 10 minutes on my walk/jog/run is perfect.

  • i'm in too!!

But I have a question...when do we weigh in? This is my first time doing this on here, and if anyone could give me a run down on all this, I would really appreciate it. I just don't want to miss anything, or possibly let my team down.

    Hi-
I'm happy to report I met the challenge. I was beginning to think I wasn't going to exercise at all, but I finally went to the Y tonight after everyone finally left my house. I did 10 extra minutes of cardio (actually 12) by adding the bike after the treadmill. I'm feeling pretty good right now.
    Good night all.

I did an extra 5 minutes on the elliptical yesterday. I can't believe I couldn't find 5 more minutes in the day for this challenge.:grumble:
I am just so lazy - the hardest part is getting myself going. Once at the Y, I'm fine.

After disgusting myself at lunch (out with a friend for her 50th), I just walked one mile in 32 degree weather. It felt great!!! I had already exercised at my regular Mon. monring class so my walk counts as my extra 10 (actually 18) minutes for the mini-weekly challenge.

That is great! I also had a pretty bad (great) lunch. I gotta step up and do something to knock some of my too many calories out!

I'm great on calories. My problem is that by the time I get home and get everybody fed, it's 7ish. I go for my workout and then I have a bunch of calories left. I still have it in my head not to eat past 7 but if I don't I can't make up my calories.

Well what time do you go to bed? Maybe if you don't go to bed until late, and just eat at least 2 hours before you do go to bed. Try that.

11ish....I have been giving myself a snack around 830, after all my exercise. I drink yet another water and eat something like peanut butter.

It's hard to explain exercise calories to DH. He thinks I'm cheating. lol

He's really starting to come around. I think that seeing me stick to it is making him realize it's not that hard to do.

Well I know that it is hard for them to come around. We were having some kind of cheese quesadillas and I know I had too many calories earlier but that is what we had planned for supper. Anyway my hubby made them and he just started pouring the cheese on the whole wheat shells. I'm like oh no, you know you gotta measure that out. He said are you gonna make yours? I said you are making them and I asked if he thought I was stupid b/c I measure out everything and he said no but when he cooks he doesn't measure anything. I said well I do and I need to know how much and what I am putting into my body! So he took the cheese off and measured it for me. There you go!!
