I have been going steady with my lifestyle change since i have started trying to lose weight but today i just fell off the wagon and i have no idea why.

I guess the worst part is im not sure why or how it happend normally i can pin point a reason like i had a stressful day or there was a celebration etc etc but today was a nice normal happy day nothing bad happend something just snapped in me and ive ended up here
sorry i didnt think id be making a post like this but here i am just having a vent

your body actually needs a day like this every now and then, to keep your metabolism guessing.0

Sometimes bad days just happen. There could be no reason at all, or it could be because things are actually going well. Who knows? The important thing is that you pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and begin again. Each new day is a new start.

Lately I have NOT been craving sweets. What I need I can get from fruit. Except for yesterday. A co-worker brought in some homemade chocolate thin mint cookies and I could not stop thinking about them. I knew they were there and they were calling to me. I had 2 after lunch and 2 in the afternoon. I counted them in my calories, but I felt really guilty about eating them. Today I figured out why I did it, I am pms'ing. So, now that I know why it happened I will be better able to control it.0

Old habits are hard to change and your mind for no reason will push you towards the old habit foods. A "bad" day here and there is no bad thing though and I think we should all have a bad day every now and again. I do it every month. Every month towards the end of the month me and my partner have our take away day, we order in either chinese or pizza or anything like that.
We both know that the next few days the scale will show mostly the sodium and will retain fluids, we both know that over the next few days we have to work a little extra on our exercise to shed the "bad" day off our bodies but it keeps us sharp in our change and you know what, the foods that used to be my favorites just don't taste as good anymore.0 -
If you are just getting started or have been only doing this for a relatively short time, I think it is normal. Learning to eat better & exercise takes time. Changes don't just happen overnight for most of us. It takes a little success w/lots of little failures as we progress. Give yourself a break. Certainly, I do think it is wise to try to figure out why you "failed" (hate to use that word). If you can't think of any reason, it may be just bad habits that have yet to be broken.
Just keep going & know it is normal to not be perfect all of the time.0 -
Don't beat yourself up too badly. Every one has a day when they eat more than they should. The important thing is that you carry on tomorrow with the healthy eating and very little damage will be done x0

I can relate to your wanting to figure out a reason for your bad day (I'm an analyzer and a naturally anxious person and in general feel like having an understanding of things helps me deal better), but unfortunately, we are only human and not everything we do/think/feel/say can be explained away logically (if it could the world would be a very different place haha). Just understanding that won't necessarily make you feel better, but if you can step back a little and put it in the larger perspective of your overall commitment to your health AND force yourself to acknowledge that hey, you're human, you f*^k up but nobody really got hurt and you haven't derailed your whole life or anything, then you can learn several things from this experience and continue growing as a complete person and NOT just as someone trying to change their diet/fitness lifestyle.
Keep your head up and be nice to yourself! If you aren't willing to do it first and foremost, it will be really difficult to get that great treatment from others!0
