Achilles

Have lost 12lbs in three months with combination of calorie-counting & more exercise (specifically running) -- don't want to lose momentum, but have now got a 'niggle' in my right achilles.
Can I "run it off"? -- am worried about picking up a compensating strain elsewhere if I do.
So how do I keep up the cardio ?
Please don't tell me to go swimming instead, because thats not an option.

Are you really stretching your muscles after you run? The achilles tendon is one that you don't want to mess with. You may have to go back to walking for a while and let it heal up.0

Not sure what a 'niggle' is exactly, but see an ortho. I had a 'twinge' in my lower outer calf (ended up being my soleus). It tore two days later 1/4 mile into a run. I was sidelined for 6 weeks, and it runs a high risk of re-occurence due to scarring. Do not screw around with this part of your leg. Your bravado can turn on you, and ruin multiple months of training.0
