spiraling out of control.

This is it. I've hit my all time low, or should I say high. The scale is terrifying and the mirror is disgusting. I can't stop splurging, it's like an addiction. I'm coming up on my 1 year anniversary and I'm literally 25lbs heavier than I was a year ago. I really need to catch myself because at this point I'm spiraling out of control. I know what I have to do, and I know that it takes a LONG time to reverse what I've done. Ugh......

This is definitely your first step in the right directions. I have been spiraling a little bit too.... Let's keep each other in line!

Hang in there; I know it can be overwhelming when you look at your overall goal, but take it slowly and set smaller incremental ones along the way. Create a plan for yourself, and work through it one day at a time. You got this! :)

You've realized it. Now you're conscience of it, you just need to be conscience of making an effort to move in the other direction. Yes, it will take a while. But that's okay, you will get there.

Pull back on the control's and pull out of that spin.......Get focused.........and yes the posting was the first step. When I find myself wanting to splurge and snack I get up and occupy my mind with some task or project. Don't forget you are in control. Don't look back as you can't change what's already taken place so look ahead. As was stated already, take it a day at a time. You will succeed.

It is definitely the step in the right direction. You're surrounded here by people who either are, or have been in the position you're in.

You know what helps me to get super motivated? Success stories. Nothing makes you want to get in it for the long haul like a good preview into your future.

Without a doubt, these are the best: http://www.shapefit.com/weight-loss-success-stories-150-over.html

    Yes I agree...one day at a time.

was spiraling as well and it took some massive will power, self control and determination with alot of just plain down right talking to myself telling myself this was enough, you did not lose all this weight to stop losing or to put it back on. I literally was talking to myself out loud (sorta yelling at myself) and had to talk myself into getting back on track with food and with working out..

As ShrinkingNinja said....let's keep each other in line. You can do it.

One day/one pound/one inch at a time! I've been splurging in the evenings and have got to get back on track again too! Eat less, move more and check in with myfitnesspal every day! You can do this:)

Okay....step back from it and refocus on your goal. You took a great first step when you became aware of the problem, besides I noted from your profile that you are a Buckeye....me too! .....and we can do anything! Good luck to you and congrats on the house!

The biggest challenge to dieting is keeping it off once you have reached goal. Been there. This time try losing slowly. And hoping to keep that bottomless pit - end of famine feeling closed. So, the main thing is for you to stop gaining. Once you've done that, start losing again. 25 lbs isn't that much. Take a year to do it.

It's not spiraling out of control. This is your time to take the charge of your life and guide it to where you want to be in life. It's easy to gain weight and it's difficult to lose it. But that doesn't mean that it's impossible. You are aware that a change needs to happen in order to see results and what better way to start changing than now. You have the tools. You have the desire. You have an entire community of people that are in the same road as you... the road to a better healthier lifestyle. I, like many, wish to see you prosper. So, jump on the wagon and let's get started soon. It won't be easy at first, but with patience (lots of this), commitment and self-assurance, you can make a change. A journey of a thousand steps, begins with one. I am rooting for you!

So true. I had to take it one choice at a time, but I was there too. You can totally do this!

Wow everyone! I'm overwhelmed with support here! Didn't think anyone was listening. Maybe I need to learn a lesson in patience first. I have been looking at the success stories and they are wonderful! But everyone is right, the one thing that is similar in each story is the amount of time it takes, which sadly, is longer rather than shorter. I'm so aware of my problem, and I'm willing to make the right choices and do what I can to be more active. I went through a very rough year where things at work were extremely stressful and requiring 12 hour work days and working on the weekend. It got me down, and I let myself go. I did 'ok' yesterday. Today has been tough too. I need a routine for sure.
