TTOM and starving...

Thinking about allowing myself to eat between my goal and my maintenance calories this week. I should get a visit from Auntie Flow soon - anyday- (sorry if that's TMI) and I am officially STARVING due to this. My "goal" right now is 1200 calories/day (more on days I work out). I think my maintenance is 1700/day. If I keep between those two, maybe I won't gain but I'll be able to eat a bit more. Input? Advice?
Oh, and I'm 24 female 5'3" and 208 lbs. In case anyone needs my stats.
ETA - yes, I do workout and I usually eat half of my exercise calories back. I realize I can eat them all back. I know I could workout more to eat more. I'm asking if eating maintenance calories (or between maintenance & my current daily goal) will do just that - maintain my current weight into next week. I don't want to derail my progress. I can handle being hungry this week if it will do that. LOL

Definitely go for it! My TOM makes me feel the same way, and then again when I'm ovulating. You won't derail your progress if you eat at the 1700 calories. Also, I have heard that you actually burn more calories around that time anyway. :-) Hope that helps!0

I will have to say for me the few days before and the week of I make very slow progress if any with the weight gain. But this last week, from last tues to today, I lost 6lbs. (it's the full week after) So it balances out. I do tend to eat a bit more that week but don't exercise any different. So my guess is that my body just adjusts and recovers. It's always seemed to do this. I'm with you as long as I'm not having a gain it's a progress. And yeah sometimes you just have to have that special something. Try to make better snack choices and don't over eat, but I've seen on The Doctors when they talk about dieting and women's cycles and they say you can your body is needing it. Also drinking more water does help me feel better and fight off the cravings.0

Thanks guys! :-) I think I will try this during this month and see how it goes. It'll be a learning experience if nothing else. :-)0
