Does anyone else do Tae bo on MFP? First time I have tried it today and was worn out after 30 minutes. Fun and effective though. If anyone else has done it, do you find it difficult to co ordinate yourself? does it get easier with practice or am I just naturally unco ordinated?....my arms and legs were all over the place rather than where they should have been....LOL.

I alternate between TaeBo and Zumba (Mostly Zumba) , but Taebo is GREAT for the core .. if you have a few rolls in ur back or front, Taebo will make sure that they leave and the kicks create a cute backside:laugh:
Stick with it, hon.. you're gonna get the hang of it... your balance will improve as well Rock on!0 -
Today was my first day. Im doing the "cardio explosion" dvd. I liked it and yes I was out of sorts trying to follow along. But I will try again tomorrow.0

You should try the 30 minutes intermediate video before jumping into the hour advanced class. The 30 minutes work out is a good way to learn the moves without feeling overwhelmed and still get a good workout. I usually stop it before he does his cool down and do a couple sets of abs on my own. Its been working great for me! Good luck!0

Thanks for the advice, that's what I did too, stopped at 30 mins in and did my own cool down.0 -
It does get better with practice. I found some of the workouts were faster than others. My balance is not the best - so really fast kicks - I just can't learn them. If you really feel like you're not getting it - it could be you have one of the really fast workouts.
This is Tae Bo is good. So is Cardio Circuit 2 (Cardio Circuit 1 is faster).
For a good primer - Shellie Blanks (his daughter) Post-Natal Power is good. This would be beginner. Cueing is excellent.0 -

Thanks for this...had a look for This is Tae Bo, but looks like i'd have to have US import of that....but I can get Cardio Circuit 2 easily enough and has good reviews for it being a bit easier for beginners0 -
I did Tae Bo a few years ago. Once you do it a few times, it gets easier to not step on your own feet! However, i bought something like 12 different Tae Bo dvds and began to realize they are all the same punch-kick-squat-repeat in a different order. They are great for a starter workout, but now i can do an hour or more of it and not break a sweat. If we do Tae Bo on a rest day, i put on 20lb ankle weights and hold 15-20lb dumbells, that's the only way i don't get bored with it.
It's a perfect way to tone your legs and get used to some moves that are in the super-intense workouts out there, though.0 -
I liked Tae Bo alright but I couldn't stand how he doesn't work each side evenly. Sometimes he'll do 10 on one side and 25 on the other, or completely forget one side. That drove me nuts! Also some of the moves are done too quickly to be safe if you're really out of shape. They didn't seem so bad once I was in better shape though.
With that said if you can look past that it is a great workout. It does get way easier with time. Do as much as you can and gradually go longer. Before you know it you'll be doing the whole video. Good Luck!0 -
My husband and I love Tae Bo, we do it together and are both getting progressively better but still not great yet. Its been about a month and we are much more confident and its still a gret workout! I recomend "This is Tae Bo"0
