Old acl injury flaring up

Hey, I have a old torn acl from basketball when I was growing up, we decided not to have it repaired way back when but recently I tweaked it doing kick-boxing. I was wondering if anyone has suggestions in getting it stronger again? It has been a week and I am able to the eliptical again, but I am afraid of any sharp movement exercises.

get one of those kids balls (the ones you will find at the grocery store and places like target.. They are usually a couple bucks Put it in between your knees and squeeze.. start with 5 seconds and slowly work your way up only resting a few seconds in between This can be done while you are watching tv..lol Really helped with mine0
