50lbs lost so far!!! Some secrets I follow?

I've struggled all my life with losing weight. I started my new way of eating in Jan 2011. One key is too give your liver and organs a break by drinking green smoothies. I have a Vitamix to make fruit and vegetable smoothies. I add some stevia for taste. This way you can get all the enzymes your missing from all crap you've been eating. You need to buy a commercial blender to blend up leafy vegetables with fruit. Mine was around 500.00. But you can find refurbished ones. If not get the best blender you can and make and blend up as much raw fruit and vegetables as you can.

I'm not super gun hoe about all this either. I do eat some garbage filled foods sometimes. I hate exercise, and didn't do much of it in the beginning, but the weight still dropped off. Don't get discouraged if you don't lose anything for the month. Try keeping measurements, you might of lost inches and gained muscle. Muscle weighs more than fat.

The food nowadays is really bogging down on your liver. Give your liver a rest. A one or two day water or juice fast will help a lot. Or even a 3 day fruit fast to begin your new eating plan. You will not lose weight if your eating preservatives and tons of wheat,carbs or sugars. Sugar do not include fruit at all. I lost 6lbs on a 3 day fruit fast. Sugars will prevent weight loss. 90% of wheat is genetically mutated. I mostly eat organic bread from the health food store or gluten free pasta. Most stores have a gluten free section. For example, you'll be eating rice noodles instead of wheat noodles..etc Also drink bottled water that is free of fluoride. Fluoride is a pesticide, and they add to our water on purpose. Drink half your body weight in ounces if you can.

    Thanks Joseph! I've been stuck, and I think it's the sugar I've been eating (stupid captain crunch gets me every time). I feel inspired now! Tomorrow is a new day :)

    Thank you so much for sharing your diet success with us. Starting next month I am planning to juice fast on the weekends. I agree that we must give our liver a break. In return we will lose weight just as you have.

    Lol. Well sounds like it's more than captain crunch, unless you eat a box every time. Substitute almond milk with regular milk. Milk is pasteurized which kills all the vitamins. Milk also leaks through the gut because of the way the process it. It does more harm than good.

    Now I am curious..........What is a fruit fast and where do I sign up ? I love fruit smoothies and have them once a day! Are you saying that I can do this as "a fast?"

    So true. Go to www.liverdoctor.com. DrSandra Cabot talks all about how our livers have been overwhelmed and how she can heal hepatitis and many liver problems. Eat like you would if you lived in the wild. Eggs, fish, greens..etc. Cut out fast food. Find a health food store. I still eat chocolate, but make sure its really dark chocolate and about 70% cocoa. Find substitutions, don't always eliminate. Rice noodles for wheat noodles. Almond milk for dairy milk...etc.

Its really hard...lol I ate fruit all day and it felt like I ate nothing at all. I lost 6lbs in 3 days. Its a 30 day plan. I wouldn't go that long at first. I only lasted 3 days....lol

    So, you ate fruit all day? No smoothies? That is why I have a smoothie everyday..... the thought of eating a raw apple does not sit well with me. ( I am a lazy fruit eater ) but on the other hand, I spend hours chopping and dicing my veggies. I love having my green peppers, onions, celery, tomatoes, carrots and cucumbers all diced and ready to eat for the week. I cut up an apple and it starts to brown before I get my other fruits ready to be blended. Kind of yukky to me, but I know I need the apple , so I drink it in my smoothie! :wink:

    I did fruit smoothies and also ate fruit. Try stepping it up and add a handful of spinach to eat one. But again you need a professional blender for that. Go to www.greensmoothiegirl.com to see what I'm talking about.

    Where are you getting this information? Especially the parts about juice fasts giving your liver a break. I'm just curious and incredibly wary of "fad" diets.

  • It doesn't seem like there is very much legitimate scientific data to back up liver detox diets, its not like your liver is actually taking a break on days you only eat fruit or whatever, but if its working for you congrats!
