What is the deal with the necro threads lately?

Although I do enjoy tripping down memory lane on occasion...

Weigh first thing after toilet, before shower or breakfast.

Of course you weighed heavier afterwards, wet hair plus our skin absorbs alot of water too which will show as a gain temporarily.

Haha I did notice something similar as well. A 1-2 pound fluctuation weighing myself before/after taking a shower. It's mysterious

Yes, your body absorbs water. MFP and most people who try to stay sane recommend only weighing yourself once a week. The scale is only a reference. It's the choices you make when you aren't on the scale that matter. Trust me, you'll save yourself disappointment and you will always know where you are (did you lose 2 or more pounds since last weigh in or are you plateauing?) It only took me two weigh ins 1 week apart to know I was on a plateau. It has not affected my motivation because the gains, while only .4 or .2 in 1 week are still gains. If I would have weighed myself everyday during those weeks I would have been going insane.

Are you seriously giving the OP advice after ~7 years??????

    I love this place sometimes.

Plus the fact that two weeks ain't a plateau...

Sometimes the zombie threads bring out some interesting replies, huh? ;)

(Still happily weighing every damn day and not freaking out.)
