hi everyone! i think i really need to start measuring myself and keeping track of inches lost. i've tried measuring myself in the past with no success because i feel like i always measure myself in a different place than the time before (i.e. not measuring the same part of my bicep, thigh, stomach, etc). as a result, my measurements are all over the place.
does anyone have any suggestions to accurately measure yourself each week? and to make sure you're measuring yourself in the same spot?
thanks!

On my arms I have identifiable freckles/moles that I use as a guideline for where to measure. Waist is easy for me. Bust right accross the nipples (usually wearing a sports bra). Thighs I use the highest point I can reach looking from the front.
Hips are the hardest for me. I always I have to measure down 10 inches from my waist and then measure my hips.0 -
First, I use the area right under my belly button so that's easy to get in the same place every time. Second, for my arms and thighs, I use a mark on my body (mole, scar, strech mark, freckle). I try to measure close to that mark every time I measure.0

CHEST: measure directly across your nipple line
UPPER ARM: measure 7 inches down from the tip of your shoulder...don't flex
WAISt: measure at your belly button
HIPS: widest area of your hips ( you might have to turn sideways to see where it is)
ABDUCTORS: just under your butt...feet together for this measurement
THIGHS: 6 inches down from your inseam...have your legs apart and weight evenly distributed on both feet (don't stand on one leg while either is being measured.
Hope this helps.0 -

For my arms, thighs, hips, and chest, I move the tape around until I get the largest measurement. That's what I go with.
For my waist, I move the tape around till I get the smallest measurement...That's what I go with...
For my waist, I've noticed that after losing 19lbs, it has shifted to a new spot on my body...LOL0 -
sharpie marker. hehe jk. but i read that if you tilt your upper body to one side you'll see a natural crease and that is your waist. hips are so many inches below your belly button. google it.0
