Hi
I went down to the local bookstore to see if I could find a low calorie cookbook. So many cookbooks! It's hard to decide. Does anybody use the weight watchers cookbook?
Tell me your recommendations please!

I would strongly recommend the Biggest Loser cook books. I got those for Christmas and I have made at least 10 things out of there and loved them all. They have the nutritional facts for all of them and so far nothing tasted like "diet" food to me. Great, healthy and most are easy to make! They have breakfast, snack, dinner and dessert ideas. I will be using these for a very long time! Hope this helps. Oh, I believe you can get a look at some of the recipes on their website.0

I have a slew of cookbooks but the greatest things that worked for me is cookinglight.com and hungry-girl.com.
I used to get the Cooking Light magazines but then I discovered the site, and I don't bother with the magazines now. I just search an ingredient or a recipe to make over healthy (like shrimp pad thai) and they usually have different versions. It's awesome!!0 -
Cooking light does have some of the best cookbooks for getting healthier out there, and I love that they have lots of pictures because I like to see what I am aiming for!
That being said, I love my magazines because I can try recipes out and if the family gives the thumbs up we put the recipe in a sheet protector and file it in one of now three binders.
Most of my recipes are from cooking light, eating well, yoga magazine and Food magazine. You can go on ANY of these websites and search for recipes. Type in the search box your main ingredient and up come many many recipes. This way it is free except for the paper and toner from your printer! It allows you to try the recipes without buying a cook book that you may not like a lot of the recipes and then you can file your favorites however you want!0 -
I have the Southern Light Cookbooks too, but one book that I find very useful was published years ago by Readers Digest that is still available on some of the web sites that sell books. The book is titled Great Recipes for Good Health.0

I agree with using what is available for free online...I recently discovered the Recipe Finder on prevention.com. It has an online recipe box where you can store recipes that you find on the site and like, and you can search based on nutrition needs (like low calorie, low carb, cancer prevention, etc.) Check it out. I just found it a few days ago, and 3 of the 5 meals we are having for dinners this week is coming from there...very cool!0 -
I like anything that gives me nutrition facts with it!
Weight watchers, cooking light, and hungry girl are all good for that.
I use the websites mostly, but I might actually track down the cooking light cookbooks now!0 -
