Maintenance Question

Okay, so 51 pounds later, I'm getting close to my final goal and am starting to think about Life After Weight-Loss. My goals on MFP say that I burn 1850 calories a day just existing. So, when I switch to maintenance, does that mean that I'll be eating 1850 calories a day? If I lose more weight, will that number drop?
Just wondering -- thanks for any help.

When I went to maintenance mfp put me at 1600 calories, I knocked it down to 1400 and have stayed the same weight for 6 or 8 weeks. Just look at the number they give you, and then play 200 calories or so on either side of it until you regulate.0

My nutritionist advised raising the calories slowly til you stop losing weight and then you are at maintenance. Seems better than just jumping up to any given number. Less stress on the body too.

If you lose more weight it should drop. But I would definitely eat less than than what MFP tells you, not by much maybe 200 just to cover it. I had a resting metabolic rate test done to see how many i actually burn with a medical test versus what this tells you and mine was off by about 150 calories.
So once you lose weight it might be worth it to find a place that does the resting metabolic rate tests to see what you actually burn so you're not eating more than what you really burn by exisiting.0
