hey, little back spot here: i'm SICK of getting screwed over by the power company thinking they can add basically $80 bucks to your account cause you were 15 MINUTES late paying it....just 15 MINUTES!

so i'm wondering, does anyone out there have any ideas of HOW DO GET OUT FROM THE POWER COMPANIES GRIP?

i NEED ideas that are affordable, and sustainable. and NO we don't have the room for a HUGE windmill in our yard(or the $$$ to put one up). i don't know if there are cheaper affordable solar panels, small windmills, ANYTHING that would get us OFF the power companies grid.

i'm beyond sick of them screwing people over just because the almighty buck is more important then their customers!

    ummm pay the bill on time? lol. turn everything off when your not using it...anything that has a standby light on it when its off is sucking up electricity. keep your ac on something comfy like 76, not 66 during the summer.

    our ac was set at like 74 over summer, if not warmer. and i was 15 minutes late because it took 20 minutes at the bank getting the money cause of a trainee.

    ugh that sucks. sorry though, thats all i got! seriously though, it may be a pain in the *kitten*, but unplug the stuff with a standby light, it sucks up more electricity than you think. hope you get some more ideas

    it's not that the bill is too high, we can afford the bill, it's just i'm sick of them not considering people AT ALL! i called them and told them i was running late because of the bank, and they still cause all the problems, and add $80 to our bill?!. that is just ridiculous if you ask me. and they are like "well, if you aren't going to make it on time call way in advance and let us know"............HOW IN THE F*** am i going to know hours before i go to the bank that i'm going to be late BECAUSE OF THE PEOPLE AT THE BANK? HOW HOW HOW?

    so yeah, i just want ideas of how to be self sufficient with energy.
