its weird to talk out in the open about all this stuff! I have one more question:
In the past 6 months I have gained 10 lbs. I fluctuate from 109-114 everyday and up till two weeks ago I was eating whatever I wanted and not excercising at all. Since that two weeks I have been on a strict diet eating about 1100 calories a day and excersicing up to 45 minutes 5 days a week but I have lost NOTHING! It seems like I could weigh less by eating crap becuase with my new diet I have stayed at about 112 does anyone have any ideas onto why or if I should do a certain excersize or eat more or less of something? I am desperate to see the low 100's again since I am very very short! Moving 200 miles sure will stress ya out I wish I would atleast lose a pound to keep me motivated but I haven't and I know 2 weeks doesn't sound like a long time but going from eating whatever I want to a strict diet and exersize everyday 2 weeks is a while not to see any lower number on the scale!

My guess is too few calories and your body has gone into starvation or self preservation mode. Up your calories by a couple hundred for a week and see if that helps. Where are your calories set on here? Are you eating your exercise calories?

How tall are you? I think you probably need to eat more. What is the base calories MFP gave you? Are you eating your exercise calories?0

My cal is set at 1200 but I have this weird thing in my head that thinks that is too many and the fewer calories I eat the more I will lose. My head is a little weird when it comes to healthy weight loss and it needs to change. What do you mean by am I eating my excercise cals? At what point does someones body go into starvation mode and how long does it take to get in/out of it (just an estimation since I know everyone is different:))0

When they eat too little...and a while.
It really is that vague. You can tell when you're eating too little-- your workouts will suffer (a drop in intensity/strength), you will feel more tired, your hunger will increase before ceasing entirely, and the scale won't move. If 1100 isn't working, why stick with it? You need to eat 1200 at the VERY least, and honestly that might not be enough. Eating your exercise calories means you eat the calories you burn to maintain the 500 calorie deficit MFP builds in for you.0 -
When you log your exercise and then go to your food diary at the bottom it says "you've gained xxx extra calories from exercise today. And they are automatically added in to your total calorie allowance for that day.
You should never go under 1200cal. That is the least amount a body needs just to function. Most of us need more than that even if you never get out of bed.
Again, I am wondering how tall you are?0 -
thank you.. cute rat by the way. I had one that looked just like that named Muffin0

MFP will never put you under 1200 calories. That is the least amount of calories your body needs to live healthfully. If you exercise eat those calories too. MFP takes the calories out already so exercising is to tone and you need the calories in your body. Hope this helps.0

Yay! I love ratties! I have the two big boys (Aries and Mars) and a new baby I got just a couple days ago...he's a dumbo rex. His name is Zeus but since he's SO cute I just call him Baby all the time hehe :smooched:
BTW, I'm 5'0 and 130-132, and I eat 1350 cals at the very least when I just sit around most of the day. When I exercise, I eat 1700-1800 cals. I tried eating 1400 calories a day and my weight stalled at 135. Eating less never worked!0 -
I agree with the others. You need to eat more. And eat at night if you are hungry. When you up you calories you'll have plenty left over for a snack at night.0
