My name is Vanessa (aka American Patriot). I am wife to Clyde - for 30+ years. Mom to Scott (age 30 - wife Amanda), Jacob (age 26 - wife Anne) and Phaedra (age 24 - husband Nick). Shenna (short for Seinmhair - pronounced shen-a-var, which is Scot's Gaelic for grandma) to Addie - 3 and one due 03.16.12 (Jacob/Anne), Trinity - 12, Paxton - 5, Dylan - 11 mos (Phaedra/Nick), then a few grand kitties and a grand doggy. OH, forgot to add my other 2 babies, mine and Clyde's youngest... Dusti (rescue cat - 9 years old around end of July. Husband rescued her from work when she was small enough to fit in palm of my hand) She is black, long hair and A LOT of cattitude; and, my gentle giant, Puffin, short haired tabby-mix. Another rescue cat from the humane society. He weighs about 15# and is so gentle and easy going. His only big faults are that he snores really loud and when he is eating, if he comes across a kibble of food he doesn't like he literally spits it across the kitchen floor. My daughter's dog taught him how to do that. LOL!
My husband and I, for our 30th wedding anniversary this past May, bought each other bicycles. I am disabled (after being attacked in 2002 by a patient who tried to strange me - thus ending a 16 year nursing career) with a permanent spinal nerve injury. It is difficult to do exercise because of the injury. I am restricted to no lifting/pushing/pulling anything more than 10 pounds occasionally and 5 pounds frequently. Which limits what I can do.
My problem isn't overeating... mine is eating. I hate food. I need support to stay on track and eat regularly. I am type I diabetic and have a really hard time getting the calories/carbs I need each day. My distaste in food began at an early age (12) and continues. With support and eating regularly, I can lose the weight. Because I don't eat properly my body has turned what I do eat into fat for future needs.
I look forward to getting to know people and helping others as well.
