Hey! I'm new at all this, definately trying to get lean and lose about 50 lbs. but I'm just wondering if protein shakes would be good to add into my diet or if berry smoothies or if there is some other type of "muscle nutrient" I can use to help with the soreness and replenish them (other than water) I don't want to bulk up, and I want it to taste good!!

Well they do taste good, with milk it is like a milkshake. Watch the calories though. Some come high in Carbs to gain weight, low or effectively no carbs are better for feeding muscles (IMHO).

Friend me if you want to see what brands I take and I can give you the reasons behind them.

I'm taking optimum nutrition gold whey protein after my workout and it cuts the soreness in half. So far I've only tried strawberry flavor and it tastes good except a tad too sweet. And by the way I mix it with skim milk.

Your better eating lean meats and veggies to loose weight! Added protein shakes or smoothies add tons of xtra calories. Unless you using them as a once and a while meal replacement or snack. Also you have to be careful of add sugars, artifical sweetners, artifical color and chemical in these things.

Read Your Lables! Dont assume that it good for you! Flip it over and see what is in the product

They do not all add a ton of calories. I use two types... Syntrax Nectar and Heavy Athletics Nutrition and both are 110 calories, 26g or protien with zero carbs, fat and cholestorol.

I would definately recommend this brand. I've used double rich chocolate, mint choc (my favourites) and banana cream and cookies and cream (those 2 are nice but a little bit more artificial tasting than the first 2)

They all have around 110-130 cals, low in carbs (1-3g) and good amount of protein (24g) per scoop

I use the vanilla kinetika whey and have 1 scoop made with skim milk & 50g frozen banana or berries.
It's my 3pm snack most days.
