I'm debating on whether or not to do the slim fast 3-2-1 plan. Has anyone done this and had success? Or what are your opinions on it?

DID IT!
Many times...
The problem is it doesn't stop the issue of emotional-compulsive eating (Like I struggle with) and then it is so difficult to maintain your weight loss...As you can't be on it forever...
It will work if you do it but I would suggest commiting yourself to a healthy diet and working out at least 3 times a week...And journal!
Good luck

It's a fad diet that works as long as you strictly adhere to buying and eaing their food, but when you stop and go back to your old ways, you will gain it back. Only a change lifestyle works forever.0

I lost about 12lbs my first month. I love slim-fast. It's not hard to stick too. I changed it up a bit recently. I have a shake for breakfast or lunch, a 200-300 lunch or breakfast and a 500 cal dinner and snacks.
I'm still losing weight. It taught me about portion control and the snacks helped me with my blood sugar issues.
Try the new bottle shakes if you decide to go through with it. They're great!0 -

This guy is awesome. I'm going to watch all of his videos. x0 -
Actually, he's talking soy down a lot, which I'm going to have to look into.0

I've never done the plan but I do drink their shakes as a lunch sometimes when I am too busy to get a meal. They really are tasty (I love cappucino delight and it really tastes like I am drinking a bottled frappucino from Starbuck's).0

Soy is not bad for you.
I'm sorry, but I highly doubt everything YOU personally ingest or put on your body is 100% a-okay for you.
Sorry, but I just can't stand when people get on these "oh that isn't natural" kicks and then they turn around and use hairspray and crap that is no better for them than what they're preaching against not using.0 -
I tried it years ago but not for long because I was always hungry.0

Are you talking to me? What's with the tone? I just said that the guy was talking down soy and that I was going to have to look into it. Meaning that I'd always been under the impression that soy was a good source of protein, and being a vegetarian I eat a lot of it. Not really sure what the problem is.0 -

You have to be careful with this question. A lot of people do not believe in fad diets. A lot of people do not believe in processed foods for diets. A lot of people think one should eliminate sugar.
Here are my pros and cons:
Pros:
1. It forces you to adher to a 1200 calorie diet.
2. It teaches your body that you don't need food, that you can survive just fine.
3. The shakes fill you up.
4. It is a great transition tool.
Cons:
1. The snack bars and shakes contain small amounts of trans fat which is the worst and should be avoided. They say 0 transfat but they have hydrogenated oils or partially hydrogenated oils.
2. They are very high in sugar.
3. You must be willing to follow the website and cook a proper dinner. They have great recipies.
4. It is expensive (for me)
I followed the diet say for 2 weeks. It was expensive but we decided to up to 1500 calories. We also did not like the constant blast of sugar. It was very expensive for all the shakes and did not compare to the price of making our own food.
We use their site to create healthy dinner ideas which end up being 500 calories. They are so much better than the junk I ate.
As a result, my stomach shrank and I can not eat as much as I use to because of the drinks. If you can follow the diet to a T, then you will be fine for helping with your diet. I would not recommend staying with them though.
It is 2 shakes (or meal bars) for breakfast and lunch, 1 snack in between, 1 snack after, a sensible dinner (500 calories) and a snack after.
Edit: I think a lot of people have issues with the diet because they sway from the diet and eat other things. In order for it to work, you have to say no to food, and look forward to your next shake. Oh to add, I also eat 6 meals (snacks) as a result because I feel it is better for me.0 -
I wouldn't do it. I have tried it and it doesn't work. You have to eat all their food then one meal your way. If you read the back on the nutrition label... it may be low in some nutrition facts but he carbs are OUTRAGEOUS and you have to watch those as well. You will be hungry all day. The drinks don't always fill you up nor do the bars. I do however, still get the bars for snacks every now and then. They are yummy. I hope this helps0

I do not follow the plan but, I do drink the shakes. I make a shake every morning for breakfast. I drink it on my way to work with a piece of fruit. I am full until lunch.
I use the reciepes from the hungry gril website for my lunches. As they are geared to 1 or 2 people.
I cook a balanced dinner for my family.
For snacks I pick from string cheese, fruit & veggies.
I think everyone needs to find their own place but, for me I combine different diets to fit into my way of life.0 -
