I just put this as my first update-- I am brand new here.....Just wanted topost this here as well. Thanks and hi to everyone...
I'm tired of being sad about my weight and not FEELING well. My outside does not match my inside and hasn't for years....I have had such a difficult---DECADE---and now I am DONE WITH IT. I am tired of letting the disappointments and challenges in my life decide FOR me that it's just "too hard" to lose weight...or that being a single mom and working full time just takes ALL of my energy and that there is none left for me to do what I need to do to break FREE of this body.....omg- Don't get me started--lol- SO SO much I want to say...to blog...to express.....I think I have let a good deal of "shame" from my weight gain prevent me from talking to people and getting the help and support I need.....If I IGNORED it, then I wasn't like one of those OTHER "morbidly obese" people out there. ( OMG I HATE THAT TERM on SO MANY LEVELS)---more to come on that.....But here I am...Hoping with the help of God, Source, Whoever is in charge, and people like myself who have struggled for toooooo long and are looking down the barrell of 100 plus to lose and feeling SO TIRED just thinking about it...)--Here I am....Somebody gonna be my frin and get on this ride with me??????I can't believe I actually joined here...I am SO scared I will disappoint myself again for the hundredth time in a decade......Really scared/worried about that.... But again, here I am....i have neverrr joined a support site for this and I am praying that this will give me the support/motivation/hand holding /and pat on the back I need to do what I need to do........I am a musician..I play guitar..I sing...I used to front a rock band back when I wasn't "out of hand"
I miss that so much.....I want my life back....xoxoxoxoxoxoxo

Tracy....great job overcoming that initial hurdle...signing up on MFP and publicly admitting the things you admitted. It is my suggestion that you copy and paste that into your profile so that you can review it if/when things start to get mentally tough...its then that you will want/need to remind yourself of those brutally honest statements so that you can keep moving along this journey.0

Hi Tracy, welcome.
I have a substantial amount of weight to lose as well and know how daunting it can be. You've taken a great first step getting started. I have been on MFP for almost three months and am finding that the combination of journaling food/exercise, reading all these inspiring stories on MFP, and a great online support system with great supportive people is making the difference in my being able to stick with it.
I'm sure if I can do this, so can you. If you'd like to, feel free to add me.0 -
AWW!! (((Hugs))) Thanks so much to all of you....What a great place...xoxoxoxo0

Making the move to recognize that you need help and support in this is the first exercise you succeeded at. Many many more to come!
Don't let yourself down -- because that is the only person who controls how well you manage your physical being. It takes a lot to finally get to the point you have found yourself in now... but rejoice knowing that there are SO many of us here with the same issues.
Welcome and success to you!0 -
Hi Tracy, You are definitely on the right track with MFP. Having dieted off and on since I was 12 years old, this is the first time I actually know what I am doing and it really doesn't feel like a diet, more of a lifestyle change. You can still eat a little bit of what you like and not feel so restricted. If you follow what MFP has come up with for you, you will lose weight. Also, I enter my food before I eat it to see what the damage is. If it is too much, I will make some changes. I know I will eat out tonight so I have already entered my dinner so I can make up the calories on breakfast, lunch and snacks and still not go over. Remember, if you mess up today, tomorrow is a new day and a new opportunity. In fact, I have read on the blogs that some folks give themselves a cheat day and it must be ok because these are folks that have lost a lot of weight. You just can't cheat every day. Good Luck!0
