Sick...??

I've been dealing with chronic sinus infections for the last 3 months. I just got off antibotics about 8 days ago, 4 days ago now - I started with another sinus infection. Doc just put me back on antibotics this time for 3 weeks. But these cause nausea... don't want to eat anything... feel like death warmed over...
Any suggestions for getting over sinus infections - naturally?
On Monday when the doc opens I'm calling to tell him what's going on. The only natural solution he suggested was the use of a neti-pot - which I have been using all along.
Any suggestions of non-nausea causing foods??
I didn't even eat any calories yesterday, but I did drink 400 calories with orange juice. I'm worried this is going to put a big kink in my weight loss plan. I haven't exercised in 2 days now too. I have a feeling I'm going to go through the sore muscles again... when I start back to it... am I right?

The only thing I can suggest to avoid the sinus infections in the future (good for you for using the Netti pot by the way, they are wonderful!) is to examine your diet. Usually when the body has reoccurring symptoms, it is because we are feeding it the same triggers over and over again. I didn't often have sinus infections, but I took ALOT of OTC sinus medication. This all stopped when I stopped drinking soda and limiting my sugar. I don't exactly know what the correlation is, but I know that I very rarely take any pain relievers anymore.
I have also heard that some people can get sinus relief by limiting dairy from Cow's Milk in their diet. My friends husband has horrible allergies and is constantly full of plehm (sorry for the visual :blushing: ) and since he switched to soy milk and limited his cheese intake, it has improved. I myself am a HUGE fan of almond milk. In my very unprofessional opinion, it is better for you than soy if you aren't allergic to nuts.
I wish you luck, but that is my best advice. Usually what is going on inside your body is a by-product of what you are putting into it. It is just finding the right combination for your particular body type.0 -
Thanks for your input. You seem to have a great grasp on your body. I've started a daily log of food intake & time 10 days ago. So that might help like you suggested. I'm going to start eliminating milk and see what happens. Thanks for the suggestion.
I drink a lot of diet pop, maybe I should ease off that and see as well... maybe I'll do diet pop first and see what happens then eliminate the milk after a few weeks.
Thanks for the food for thought! I say dump the antibiotics they are just making you sicker. Most sinus infections are viral not bacterial so antibiotics do absolutely nothing but make them stronger in the long run. I had the same problem when I was in college and ended up with a kidney infection due to the 4 rounds of antibiotics and still had the sinus infection. Your own body will eventually kick in and cure itself trust me. Drink lots and lots of fluids hot tea is great and detox tea is even better. I also use over the counter guaffenisen(sp?) it is in OTC sinus medications. Find one with a good dose of it for the congestion, but make sure you drink plenty of fluids that is really the key. :drinker:
