I'm thinking of putting it on the grill. Any suggestions of how to prepare it?

You can top it with dijon and fresh herbs and serve it on a bed of olive oil, dessed with red pepper and more herbs. . . mmmmm.

Or you can marinade it in teriyaki. Or in a soy, rice wine vinegar mix.

You can put BBQ sauce on it.

I have a great rub: cumin, cayenne, chipotle powder, brown sugar, garlic powder, black pepper, salt. Cook until almost done (be careful, spices can burn) and then put a little maple syrup over the top. It's amazing. If you want the exact recipe, message me and I"ll get it for you when I get home.

    Got this from a friend.

In a pan put water & lemon juice (enough to cover the salmon). Boil on one side for 5 minutes...flip...boil for another 5 minutes. Eat.

I wrap mine in foil and just add Mrs. Dash lemon/pepper and... voila! Not exactly a masterpiece, but sometimes you just need to keep it simple.

For me simplicity - hot hot gril - 1 to 2 minutes on the one side, turn over and 1 to 2 minutes on the other.....
Light sprinkling of salt and pepper and rest for a couple of minutes...little bit of lemon if you like

Salmon is so gorgeous IMHO it does not need all the sauces / marinades.....

We usually make it on the grill by wrapping it in foil and squeezing lemon juice on top, then place thinly sliced lemon on top and grill. If the weather is bad you can do the same thing in the oven. Tonight I made it in the oven and served it on salad greens with Black bean, mango salsa. It was AMAZING!

    Salsa:
Combine: 1 can black beans, drained
1 1/2 cups fresh, chopped mango
    6 stalks green onions, chopped
    1/2 Cup cilantro/corriander, chopped
    1/4 Cup fresh lime juice
1 jalapeno chopped (more or less depending on how spicy you like it). I didn't have a fresh jalapeno so I chopped up
    sliced, jarred jalapenos.

In a small bowl mix 1 tsp of grape jelly, 1 tbls barbeque sauce and 1/2 tsp mustard.
Pan sear 2 salmon filet on both sides until browned about 2 min a side.
Brush mixture and sear for 30 seconds on each side.
I know it sounds weird but it's delicious.

  • Bake it at 450 degrees for 10 minutes with 1/2 teaspoon of brown sugar (splenda brown sugar works too) and a few dashes of paprika. So good!
