Sweet Tooth :(

Okay so I have a slight problem with my MASSIVE SWEET TOOTH!
I crave sweet things, and I know they are not good for me
Does anybody have any alternatives that can satisfy my sweet tooth?
I really enjoy biscuits, and I don't mind baking, so biscuit/cookie recipes would be great!

why don't you fit some sweets into your daily cals, that way you get a little of what you're craving and hopefully don't binge or overeat them if you had deprived yourself0
-
Check out the website skinnytaste.com there are a ton of dessert recipes on there with all the nutritional info0

I do too. I have been using Shakeology for the past 5 months and I have cut back on my sweet intake considerably. Expensive as hell, but works for me0

That is quite a good idea actually...but I am not sure whether I would be able to without feeling guilty
I'll try it tomorrow though & see how I feel0 -

You could have it pulled out.0

I have the same problem, sometimes just popping a stick of gum can make the craving stop.0

bomb pops! they're 40 calories each0

When I have a craving for sweets, I usually make one of these:
http://www.dashingdish.com/2010/03/i-cant-believe-its-not-a-milkshake/
And there's no harm in a little dark chocolate. It has antioxidants and studies show that it can help prevent heart problems.
Letting yourself have things you love is the only way you'll really be able to stick to this. I don't deprive myself. Sometimes I just have LESS. Schwan's has these amazing ice cream bars with dark chocolate coating. They're only 60 calories each. I get a sweet treat that hits the spot, and I don't break my calorie bank. There is bound to be something similar in the regular grocery stores. I don't know.0 -
Yes!! I don't have any recipes that are diet friendly but I have had some mild success with little candies. A couple of the Dove squares when the feeling hits or some werthers or somethign similar. You get the sugar, but it a nice small package.
Also, raisins. I never liked raisins before but I found some TJ raisins that are the most delicious juicy things ever and I'm addicted. They don't get all gross and rock hard like sunmaid or other store bought raisins that I've had. But I see you are in England and no TJ over there, I was just on a love rant. Very sweet too (just don't eat the whole 1lb bag... I've yet to learn how to do that )0 -

You're in the UK, right? How about: skinny cow ice cream/ice cream bars, meringues (super low in cals), low fat/fat free yogurt - right now I'm addicted to Muller light limited edition coconut with dark chocolate sprinkles, you can also freeze yogurt too, a rice cake with a teaspoon of peanut butter and a few chocolate chips, you can buy individual bags of jaffa cakes, maryland cookies, oreos, and jammie dodgers for around 100 cals each, buy a pack of tesco fairy cakes (80 cals each) and top with 1/2 pot ff lemon yogut and a few blueberries or chocolate chips (around 110 cals), light choices chocolate mousse (75 cals), you can buy flat ice cream cone wafers (11 cals for 2) and fill them with low fat ice cream and press a few chocolate chips around the outside to make and awesome ice cream sandwich.0

There are a lot of sweets that have real sugar and not a lot of calories. The problem is when it's incorporated in bread products that the calorie count goes way high like cinnamon rolls or cake. Did you know one Lindt Chocolate Truffle is only 79 calories? Buy a whole bag, have one a day:
1 square (and they're a decent size) of a Ghiradelli Dark Chocolate bar is only 55 calories:
Skimp on calories, not the taste.0 -
From a fellow UKer:
Fun size choc bars. 69 calories for a milky way, 89 for a mars bar.
Oh, and for dessert, check out Danone Shape White Chocolate mousse. Absolutely gorgeous! 110 calories!0 -

Do you have Fiber One stuff in the UK?? I just bought the 90 calorie Peanut Butter Brownies and they are delicious. Then today I decided to microwave one for 25 seconds and put a tiny squirt of light whipped cream on it and I think it was HEAVEN.0

You know what. Sweets have a way of never satisfying you. When I start to eat them, I can't get enough. No amount of sweets is going to satisfy a sweet tooth. What you have to do is get off sugar completely. You will lose that sweet tooth and sugar will be the last thing on your mind. It's better than eating a piece of a sweet and wanting another almost immediately. You can live without them, they're not good for you either. Then on the occasional birthday or whatever, have a little bit. You'll find when you've lost your sweet tooth, a little will go a long way. Last week at my Dad's, I had a quarter piece of birthday cake. Yeah, I 'd never have been able to do that ever in the past. But it was more than enough. A bite satisfied me. Try it, what have you got to lose? You'll miss them for two or three days, tops.0

When I need something sweet, I go for mandarins. They are sweet, but low in calories.0
