what is 'clean eating? '

I take it there's more to it than just not making a mess when you eat dinner? :ohwell:

Can someone explain what it means please?

    Generally, it means eating minimally or non-processed food (protein powders being an exception for some reason).

    Many people have different ideas of what clean eating is. Some may say it's staying away from red meat, some may say it's staying away from fast foods, some may say it's staying away from processed foods, the list goes on.

    the meat with veg and potatoes meals... what we used to call 'plain' food? .. without sauces etc ie curry which usually where all the calories are!

    Fresh, local, organic, non-processed foods. It's a good way to eat but I find I really struggle trying to "eat clean"!

    For me it's mostly eating healthy, non-processed food: fruit and vegs, lean meats, whole grains, legumes, ... You can eat a curry but you make the sauce from scratch or you can eat cake but you have to bake it yourself!

    For me it's knowing what all the ingredients are in your food, and avoiding too much sugar/unnecessary chemicals. EG, a chocolate cake from the deli has all sorts of ingredients I didn't know and googled, and I was kind of appalled. Making one at home, I know exactly what it has. (not to say that just because you can name the 4 whole ingredients in your cake means it's good diet food lol ;) )

    The less processed, packaged food you eat the cleaner it is, imo.
