Exciting to try on clothes these days!!

I have done a LOT of shopping in Goodwill over the past few months. With my continually changing sizes, it's about the only way I could afford to keep any kind of a wardrobe going. One of the little nuances about thrift store shopping is you pretty much have to just guess and go by the way it fits because sizes are not that helpful. Garments may have been shrunk, stretched out, or even altered.

Today I went into a retail ladies clothing store that I have frequented often. The first 'readjustment' came when no longer needed to go to the plus size side of the store. From there it's been a gradual change. I remember when I was just super excited that I could shop in that store at all - wearing the largest size they carried! Then came the big day when I was able to find one item on the 'small side' that I could wear.

So, back to today. I went in and had some serious problems - - - I found several items that I loved, but they were TOO BIG!! The size 12 pants looked like I was trying on my big sister's clothes and the XL sweater just swam on me. When did this happen? I just have to say that I really had a blast trying things on - and walked out with nothing at all. It was still one of the most fun times I have had shopping in a while!!

There are some before/after pictures on my profile if anyone is interested.

    WooooHooo, Syd,

That is so exciting!! I can only imagine the thrill when you tried on the first thing and, waaalaa, it didn't fit!! I like to shop at thrift stores because I think reg. stores are just too expensive. Good job.

    Blessings to you, too,
    The other Syd
