I would really like to join a challenge to connect with a group who has the same goals as I do. We are obviously all here to lose weight, exercise and be healthy, but I think that having a specific goal to work towards would be great. There are so many challenges on here and I have noticed that most are already closed groups. A challenge that carries on till Christmas or New Years would be so much fun. Have you started a challenge like this? Or would you like to? Because I would love to join! Thanks in advance for the info : ) Lets be friends and help motivate each other!

Mid summer I made a post on facebook sayin 'its 6 months til new years...start now and be that much closer to your goal come resolution time' and got very little feedback.
Guess all my friends are outta-shape lazys.
I'm building muscle til then, then cutting for mid summer, all a part of a 1 year goal for myself.
But this is a good idea, considering the holidays are usually sabotage/toughest time for people. Start early and be even closer to your ideal self come the new year.
Good luck girls.:drinker:0 -
Hi, I just joined MFP today and was going through the challenges and thinking the same, they are all closed.. Maybe we can start our own?
I need something that will keep me on track until the holidays or christmas, that's when I want to reach my goal.0 -
Let's start our own then! I was thinking that we could do a different challenge every week to keep things going all the way to New Years. Every week we could all post our ideas on what the challenge will be for that week and we can all vote on our favorite ideas. For example the first week could be for everyone to make their diaries public (to hold us accountable) then maybe the next week the challenge would be to get 7-8 hrs of sleep every night. then the next week might be to go an entire week without eating fast food or eating at a restaurant. This will help keep us on our toes and find out what areas we have issues in, it could help us with our weight loss and help us to take control of other aspects of our lives as well. What do you guys think about this? We could accept the first 15 people who sign up so that the group is small enough to connect with that way we can get to know each other and encourage each other throughout the next 15 weeks. (and hopefully after that as well)
what do you think? are you in?0 -

I just saw your post right after I posted my own topic to start a challenge. I had the same idea as you, to keep each other going with weekly challenges.
I also like the idea to make our diaries public, perhaps we could make it a requirement to join.
But I wanted to leave the challenge open for everyone to join instead of limiting it to a certain number of people. Why close it if more people think they can benefit from the challenge?0 -

I was just looking at your post too and I really like the idea that you had about making a food challenge AND an exercise challenge every week, touches all the bases I like that. I think I will do a smaller group simply bc I tend to feel overwhelmed when there a lot of people involved. I want to feel like I can really connect with people and encourage and get to know one another. I don't have any support in my everyday life so I think this will be a great way to get and give some.0 -
