Pre MFP life i washed my hair once or twice a week anymore than this makes it to oily and unmanageable. But now that i sweat twice a day everyday im not sure how to keep it clean and fresh....any tips???

Dry shampoo is a godsend! It smells lovely and really makes your hair look fresh if you don't have chance to wash it! :happy:0 -

Maybe dumb question but is it like the leave in conditioner day treatment things you can put in wet/dry hair?0 -
Charles Worthington do a dry shampoo spray which I like AND it smells really good so kinda makes your hair smell good too. Tresemme do a dry shampoo mousse which I quite like, and then there are other brands out there too. Alternatively because I have a problem with oily roots and dry ends, I find that using baby powder works (only works if you have blonde/light colored hair) it kind of freshens it up and leaves it smelling good too.0

Actually not washing your hair everyday is good for it. You should not wash your hair everyday, sweaty or not. I just rinse my hair thoroughly in the shower and use conditioner, then dry shampoo when it's dry if my hair doesn't feel clean (though it usually does)0

When i used dry shampoo, it made my hair feel really oily...I didn't like it. I wash my hair everyday but, if i don't get a chance, I will end up showering before i go to the gym and put my hair up into a bun. By the time i get to the gym, my hair is towel dry. After my work out, the top part of my hair (roots) are dry but the ends are not. When i get home, i shower but i just don't wash my hair....So since it's still semi-wet after the workout, it still smells good and you can blow dry it/straighten it and it will be fine. My hair is really thick and long though....So i think that's why I can get away with that. If i put my hair up in a bun and workout, the ends of my hair (like past my ears) will still be wet the next day after i wake up...crazy stuff. But that's what works for me.0

i was told to use witch hazel, dab on scalp and then dry hair with hair dryer, cheaper than dry shampoo.0

Yup, dry shampoo is my new best friend. I use batiste.0

  That maybe an easier style to manage and i would save a fortune on hair products!0 -
BATISTE Dry shampoo - it's like a really fine powder and works a treat, adding body and volume to your unwashed hair.
I face the same dilemma as you but this is a God send for me and smells good too.
Your natural oils will still work their magic in your hair so it is a win win situation.0 -
I have been a stylist for over 20 years. Sexy Hair makes a dry shampoo. The witch hazel as suggested helps. Baby powder helps. As a stylist though, shampooing should not be making the hair oily. Oil and sweat both come from scalp pores. Shampoo should be helping manage oil. Maybe check the shampoo and conditioner you have been using it may have too much conditioning for your hair type.0

I have two heavy workouts a day, long fine hair, color treated.
I use ether a conditioner only, on some cleansing - or Hair One from Sally Beauty Supply. (The knockoff of the Wen Hair Conditioner cleanser product) - its essentially a conditioner made for use as a shampoo replacement.

Reviews are mixed, but Sallys lets you return it if you don't like it.0 -
I don't wash my hair. Ever.
With shampoo, that is. I use conditioner. I use a lot, scrub my scalp like I would with shampoo, comb through and rinse very thoroughly, my hair is as clean as it would be with shampoo, only not stripped and dry and hay-like.
It makes it curly and completely eliminates split ends. So that's what my advice is. I started doing this a few months ago and I have to say it's totally rocked my world.0 -
I just shaved my head, and wash it! I got fed up with the daily struggle when washing my face of "Where do i stop?!", so now i just do the whole head!0

Really???? I'm intrigued.... I have really long hair but have oily roots and dry ends, so I scrub the roots with shampoo and soak ends in conditioner which doesn't really work all that well.... do you think this will deal with the oily roots???0
