I had 50g of egg mayo on my toast so started a new food called 50g egg mayo... the serving size of course was 50g, but it won't accept it, it wants me to write half a cup cooked or something?.. no idea how to do fractions on my mac keyboard anyway and it wasn't half a cup cooked!

Why can't I add the exact weight I used?

End up having to use quick cals but then when go back to food logs later I can't remember what food they were when I had to to use this.

I had the same problem yesterday trying to add something.. a banana i had i knew was exactly 105 cals.. when I put bananas in search it was giving me higher cals.. tried to make one of my own it wouldn't cos they were already listed.

Whats point in having a custom item if you can't add your own weight or descriptions?

Okay, I hope I can explain this okay. When I need only 1/3 of a cup of something and the serving size only has the option of a cup, in the serving box next to it, I will put in .30 of a serving. I think you will need to find out how much 50g equals to a a half cup. Just measure out 50g. and put it in a 1/4 measuring cup, or whichever cup it goes in best. Or, I use Ask.com a lot. I d ask " How many grams are in a 1/2 cup?", and take it from there. I sure hope this answer isn't too confusing. Good luck.
  • Hi, just so you both know .. you dont need to put a cup size.. I have just added this for you ... if you search under the food database and type "egg mayo (50g)" it will come up.. I didnt know how many calories to put, so I just added 150 as a test.. and its working..
If you let me know how many calories etc I will go in and edit the other details..
    Hope this has helped :-)

  • The serving size is to help you measure in 'portions' so what ever portion that is you type in. It doesn't have to be a cup it could be anything. So if 50g of egg mayo is approx 2 tablespoons - then put 2 tablespoons in the serving size. If you have 50g of biscuits and that equals 2 biscuits you type 2 biscuits in the serving size and if you have 100g of blueberries and that equals 1 cup then you put 1 cup in the serving size. Similarly if you bake something and it weighs 400g but you only want to count half of that towards a serving size you type in 1/2 portion, or 1 portion if there is 2 portions in the whole thing.
