My hubby and I enjoy a nice cold glass of cider most weekends and I was just having a look at the nutritional info on here for both of them. Stella Cidre is 150 cals per pint whereas Magners is 232.
Is this right?
I don't know where to search to get the accurate figures but if it's the case then we will be ditching Magners and sticking to Stella!
Can someone please verify this as I wouldn't know where to start looking to be honest! lol

Not sure about the 232 calories, but I much prefer Stella Cidre anyway!

Thanks! It's a bit of a pain to work out exactly as the Magners is in ounces and the Stella in mls! But it still looks like the Magners is still quite a bit more. I like them both equally. Have you tried the new Magners flavours?

the info i can find is that stella cidre is 150 calories for every 568 ml. and magners is 233 for a pint.
I think on weight watchers they count it as 8 points because of the alchol/sugar effects.

it is very nice though, I don't like lager or beer so much prefer cider.

Every source I can find reckons there's 150 calories in Stella Cidre per 568ml, which is a pint, and 210 in Magners. I find that hard to believe as I find they taste EXACTLY the same!

They're both too sweet for my tastes really. I used to like dry cider but it doesn't seem to be widely available any more, unless anyone has a suggestion?

Thanks! Last time I checked 568 mls and a pint were the same! So that's good news for me!

Bulmers do an extra crisp one which is drier than the regular.
We are brewing our own cider at the moment, have no idea how many cals per pint it will be though! lol
  • Hi everyone

I emailed AB InBev UK this morning (the company that make Stella Artois Cidre), and they have replied to tell me that Cidre contains 51 calories per 100ml - which actually makes it 290 calories per 568ml bottle!

I've updated the entry in the database but thought you'd all like to know.

    Thanks

    Mike

Wow, thanks for the zombie thread revival, I suspected as much. Well done for going to all that trouble for us!

Old Rosie is quite dry and Henneys do a dry one.

Best dry cider is bought by my father in law in Somerset, but that comes off one farm, and it a bit far if you live in the east of the country.
