Weighing more after a workout

Before anyone tells me off.. I know it's bad to rely on the scales and weigh yourself too much. And ultimately I am more than happy with the results in terms of looking better and trimming up, the scales are also moving, but I am trying to focus on how I feel, and how I look, and how my clothes feel etc as a gauge.
BUT... that said.. I was reading about weight fluctuations over a week, and the reasons behind it. Does anyone weigh MORE after a workout ? I find I do (either straight after, weighing AT the gym, OR the next morning with aching muscles) - after exercising quite intensively - bodypump or spinning, sometimes both back-to-back.
Some have said the excess water you drink while exercising intensely, some say your recovering muscles store more glycogen or something, which makes them heavier - thoughts/comments ?
Do your muscles swell up after a big workout ? Could that explain a 3-4 lbs increase, that THEN settles back to normal 2 days later ? This seems to be my pattern. So is ANOTHER reason for NOT weighing myself every day.
Interested to know your thoughts...

Yes your muscles retain water after you workout because they are repairing themselves.
Also you are weighing yourself after all the food you ate all day, plus you have clothes and shoes.. which will again, make you weigh more.
Your right, it's another reason not to weigh yourself everyday.. once a week works just fine.0 -
From what I have heard after a workout your muscles retain water to protect themselves and that can lead to a weight gain. Like with lots water retention the best way to get rid of it is to drink lots of water.
Good luck!0
