Hi- I am super new to this site! and am loving it. It really is so easy.
I have lost weight in past ( 135 lbs- maintained it for 6 years, gained 80 with 1st pregancy, lost 70 of it, and then gained 50 with my last preg. This what I need to get 45lbs off now that I am done with having kids.
So here is my concern. I am allowed 65 grams of Protein a day. So far I just had breakfast and have a little less than half left. I do eat alot of high protein stuff throughout the day and do atleast 2 protein shakes a day ( each 20 gr).
Anyhow- is it OK to go over on the protein as long as I keep the carbs and fat in check.
Thoughts???? i have never calucated my calories, just kinda winged it in the past :S.

I think up to 100-150g a protein a day is fine.
But why are you taking protein shakes?0 -
Mfp calculates protein very low. It's okay to go over. Your body will use what it needs and you'll excrete the rest. No worries there.0

Does excess protein cause constipation?
I eat around 140 g protein per day (I'm 120 lbs), so I make sure I get in tons of fiber to keep everything moving. 1 C Simply Fiber cereal balances out the nutrition aspect of it all0 -
I never worry about protein. only thing about it is high protein usually means high fat and carbs, so I watch those.0

Hi!
Thanks all for replying. I take the protein shakes- AI need a sweet pick- me-upper in teh afternoon. If I do intense strength training then I need a shake a fterwards.
Sounds good.0
