One of my friends on MFP told me "pics or it didn't happen". Well I'm not going to ask a juicer at a Gold's near my house that was spotting me and say "Hey ..can you take a pic of me pushing this weight up?" Soooo....I just had to take a pic of the weight on the squatted leg press that I did.

750lbs CLEAN for 8 reps, and 6 were completely unassisted. Had 2 spotters, one on each side.

Holy crap!! I wouldn't be able to even move that, LOL. Good for you!!! My max is about 140lbs.

because of the angle you are not really lifting 750 lbs. I am not sure if you do squats with free weights but that is a much better exercise that engages more muscle groups and will give you a better indication of how much you can actually lift. That being said that amount of weight is still impressive. I think I use to do 400+ lbs, but I only squatted 260.
  • WOW!!!! My legs would snap in half...LOL

I never said it was squats.

Also I cannot do full squats due to 2 disc herniations, although I can do hack squats for 550 @ 6 reps.

I think I need to see a video of you actually doing this!! Don't get me wrong it's not because I don't believe you. It's just something I would enjoy watching,

Yep I admit it's one of the perks of going to the gym :blushing:

I will try to find someone next time to either take a pic of me doing it, or make a video of it. It's tough to ask another lifter to do this in a gym full of meatheads though. =)

The meatheads will take your photo/video. They take photos/videos of each other. They probably consider you a fellow meathead if you can do this amount of weight.

And as an aside, unless you KNOW that the meatheads are also juicers, it's kinda obnoxious to refer to them as such. My husband is a powerlifter, and people always make the assumption that he's on steroids. He's not, never has been, just trains his *kitten* off. If we had a dollar for every time he's been accused, we'd be loaded.

But the term meathead amuses me. I call my husband and his friends meathead all the time. I also tease him about going to the gym to "lift things up and put them down".

First of all, it's ignorant for you to assume that the meatheads at this particular gym will take my photo/video when you don't know them.

Second, I actually was offered by the guys if I needed anything to "boost my training" after they spotted me when they saw me push that much weight up not only on the leg press, but also on the hack squat. I'm not a very big guy at all, and they were surprised at the strength and great form I had.

Anyway of course I denied their offer, and appreciated them for asking. That along with the amount of vascularity they had, the size of their cuts, the size of their jaws, etc along with the fact that they asked me if I needed something was a clear indicator.

Snort. They offered to help, but you couldn't ask them to take your photo? And i'm the ignorant one? Got it. Good luck with that whole training thing.

I'll be sure to ask them for a photo next time to show you that I pushed the weight up. K?

While I'm at it, I'll ask them to refill my water jug, wrap my knees before I lift, and rack and de-rack the weights for me.

I's confused. How does them offering to help with spotting and...umm...juicing compare with him asking them to take a pic? If I were to go to a gym, I would feel much more comfortable asking people to help with workout related stuff than I would asking about a photo shoot...at the GYM.

    Because either:

    1. She's psychic and knows that these guys will take a photo/video of me without even knowing them.

    2. She assumes (there is that word again) that these guys aren't juicers because her husband is a powerlifter and doesn't juice so that means automatically that these guys aren't juicers either.

Oh and her husband is big because he "trains his *kitten* off". Lol wow so if I train my *kitten* off too..will i get big?
  • Wow!!! That's like my weight 5 times
