So I have noticed that since begining MFP I have more gas after I eat. It is painful at times and was wondering if anyone else sufferes from that as well. Doesn't matter what I eat its there and usually a lot more after lunch. If you suffer from this what do you do about it? Do you take a pill to counter-act it or what? I am looking for some help because I am tired of feeling bloted everyday after lunch.... HELP!!!

something your eating is causing your body to produce more gas so start cutting out certain things you are eating, try to eliminate whats causing it. sometimes if you're eating more fiber that can cause it or can help to get rid of it, depending on the person. there are pills out there to counteract the gas, so look at those.

    Bean-O helps.

If you're upped your fiber, dairy, and/or veggies, you're likely to increase your gas production as well. Your body should adjust over time.

If you have started drinking diet drinks - that can cause the gas, as well.

I'm sorry to hear that you are in pain...that's never good. I've never had "painful" gas. But I do experience a little gas if I drink a Slimfast shake. What are you eating for lunch? I'd suggest you try Bean-O before you eat lunch.

Without being able to view your diary, we can't figure out the culprit.

I know having a bran-heavy breakfast and Fiber One bars were what killed me. My stomach was distended. I couldn't stop passing gas, unless I wanted to writhe around on the floor in excrutiating pain.

If you're new to eating more fiber, wait a few weeks and see if it tapers off.

Diet drinks are the devil. If it's sugar free, it can cause horrible gas and stomach cramps (so not worth it).

It also could be that you are eating too fast because you are hungry.

Don't add MFP to your diet

You may want to try adding a digestive enzyme to your diet (beano or other.)

I have had the same problem.

However, my previous diet was worse!

For me it has subsided greatly. Guess my body has adjusted?

    As for what to take??

I tried Bean-O a few times and I guess it worked. It only seemed to work if I took it before a spicy meal. Aside from that I was blowing wind all the time.

If you are adding more fruits/veggies/whole grains to your diet, the "side effects" will go away as your body gets used to it. Just have to live in solitude and invest in some Glade Plug In's in the meantime :blushing:

    Gas-X is also an option.
