Accidentally pushed my 'health agenda' onto my students - oo

So let me preface this with the fact that I am a music teacher (k-8) and I have a very good rapport with my students and parents, so luckily this didn't backfire in my face - but I need to be careful when I go off on tangents, haha.

So I was reviewing note naming with my 5th graders and discussing the sentences used to remember the bass clef notes: Good Boys Do Fine Always, and All Cows Eat Grass.

Right now I'm really into eating whole, unprocessed foods and I'm making sure to eat dairy only from grass fed cows. So upon stating "All Cows Eat Grass" I made the side note that not ALL cows eat grass, but if you want your dairy to be healthy it should come from cows that eat grass. Of course they were interested in the one thing I shouldn't have said and had a million questions - "what do they eat? blah blah blah" - oh goodness.

So one of my students came in today and told me he checked his milk when he got home and was really happy to know that his milk came from grass fed cows. Oy vey. I HOPE these parents don't think I'm pushing any sort of agenda on their children - you seriously have to watch everything that comes out of your mouth with these guys. It could've been WAY worse, so I'm glad all I was talking about was dairy. It has been amusing me all day so just thought I'd share. haha
