Hi everyone,
I went to the doctors and got my heart rate checked, which was 80/60 or 60/80. I can't remember which number went first. What does this mean? Is this good or bad??
Thanks for any advice!

I'm not sure if you meant blood pressure or pulse.
Heart Rate = Pulse... here you go with some norms:
Babies to age 1: 100–160 beats per min
Children ages 1 to 10: 60-140 beats per min
Children ages 11 to 17: 60–100 beats per min
Adults: 60–100 beats per min
Well-conditioned athletes: 40–60 beats per min
Blood Pressure norms would be like this:
Normal 119/79 (and below)
Prehypertension: 120 - 139 / 80 - 89
Hypertension: 140/90 (and above)
With blood pressure, the top number is called, Systolic and the bottom number is called, Diastolic.
More importantly, when you go to the doctor, this is the time to ask questions. Make sure to ask your Dr. what normal is on any test if you're curious. After all, you're paying a lot for their opinion. A great place to go for questions is: http://www.mercksource.com/pp/us/cns/cns_patient_resources_nwhrc.jspzQzpgzEzzSzppzSzuszSzcnszSzcns_patient_resources_savard_formzPzjsp .You just select a topic and you'll get a list of questions to ask your doctor about.0 -
