Yesterday I was feeling so good about achieving one of my goals I put in Jillian Michael's Fitness Ultimatum (I havent used for awhile now) and bumped it up from my usual light 45 minutes to Medium 45 minutes....
This morning all I can say is ouch. My legs and stomach hurts. Should I take a day to recover? Do something really easy today? or get back to it and do it again? And should I take one of my muscle relaxers after? lol

I would do a day of recovery and light stretching. If you're hard up for calories a walk would be good...but I wouldn't work out to hard, your muscles need time to heal.0

I agree with the above! I went rock inclining on the coast yesterday and EVERYTHING hurts. So today I am just going to jump on my treadmill and do about 30 minutes of brisk walking, maybe my pilates tape if I feel like it.
'Rest' day doesn't have to mean you sit around all day. You can still move without injuring your muscles. :flowerforyou:0 -
Thank you for your input... both of you. :flowerforyou:
wow! allenhm! Rock climbing sounds fun. It is one of the things I want to do here this summer after I've increased my strength training exercises.0 -
Definitely stretches and maybe a hot soak in the tub to keep the muscles from getting more sore. If you have Epsom salts they are great for soreness in a nice hot bath. I find that I am usually the most sore 2 days after a hard workout or something new. Not sure if anyone has experienced this. Maybe the first day my body is still in shock that I exercised it at all so it is not sure what to do until the second day! LOL! Sad but true.
