Should I count net calories or just how many calories I take

Hi everyone, I have a question. Should I be concentrating on my net calories or the number of calories that are outlined for everyday? And when I exercise, do I really need to eat more calories that day? Thanks!!

Net is how MFP is designed, they give us calories to meet our weight loss goals without lifting a finger in exercise. Exercising gives a bigger deficit which may not help with weight loss. It's just "done" different than elsewhere where they'd maybe "give" you 300 more calories in a day but expect you to workout burning off 300 calories a day. Net effect is the same it's just when the adding / subtracting is done

  • I don't eat my exercise calories, I think it kind of defeats the purpose.
