Questions about BMR and exercise!?

my BMR is in the 1300-1400 range
and i want to start eating that amount of calories because i was restricting to 1000-1300 calories for awhile
i have lost 15kg / 33 lbs already (i have only being sort of unhealthy for 2 1/5 months) and i want to lose another 3 kg / 7 pounds. but i want to lose it pretty slowly and healthily so it will be easier for me to maintain my weight when i reach my goal.

so if i eat my BMR will i lose weight?
and if i exercise, should i eat more than my BMR or the same?
thankyou!

  • Hi,
Your BMR is basically what your body burns if you are lying in bed all day. So, if you eat your BMR, you will lose weight as it does not account for what your body will burn during its daily activity and exercise. If you use the fitness goal thingy on this site and set your target at say 1 LB/week or even 0.5 LB/week, it'll give you a healthy kalory goal based on your expected activity level.
    Good luck.
