Odd NSV but I'll take it!

I was at the hairdressers yesterday and my hairdresser asked me 4 times whilst cutting my hair - "what have you done to your hair? it used to be quite brittle and I had to be really careful blow drying it but now it feels in great condition and really strong!".... at this point I had to stop him from pulling on it to demonstrate his point! so all I can put it down to is the fact I've switched from junk food (pizza + chinese etc) to lots of eggs, tofu and veggies (I'm vegetarian) so I must be getting a lot more vitamins and minerals in my diet :)

Wonderful, my hair has been growing like crazy since I been eating healthy and exercising. People are commenting how long my hair long my pony tail is. At one time a person thought I had piece on. I said this all my hair. Great News.

Thats actually a very good NSV>...I come from "good hair" genes, but my hair is going nuts like it did when I was pg and taking vitamins. Im thinking about weaving a rug from all the extra I have now! :)

    Thanks guys!

christinalovexo - thanks for the tip - yes interested in 'green' smoothie recipe providing its low cals (no avacodo's!) lol

msjac23 - I'm swishing my hair round now happy in the knowledge others are enjoying the same experience!

stephaniebarber - WOW! that is a BIG weight loss! I'm sooo impressed

lol! good hair genes? you are blessed. I've always had fairly shiny hair but very fine + flyaway and it's got worse as the weight went on and stress at work. Omg I almost wrote 'gotten' in that sentence - there's so many Americans on MFP I think I might be morphing into one lol!

No avocados! I like them, but wouldn't put it in my smoothie! I wonder how that would taste.

Green Smoothie--- 1/2c peaches ( i use del monte snack cups, no sugar added) 1/2c mango (fresh), 1/2 pineapple (i use skinny fruits, no sugar added) and LOTS of spinach! I try to put about 1.5- 2cups... the pineapple can be substituted for banana, but I don't like it, or blueberries for a dark green smoothie. I buy packaged fruit because it is easier and cheaper for me, but def no sugar added! Sometimes I add a splash of almond milk, or you can add protein powder, and don't forget ice!. :)

I started drinking them for breakfast with an egg white omelet and my personal experience is that it gives me enough energy that I don't need coffee or any other stimulant, and my skin is clearer and more even. Of course you would need to drink it every day for a while before results would show! Also it is not high in cals, my tracker shows between 140- 160 cals depending on servings.
Hope you try it an enjoy!

^^^ thanks for that! I will try it and let you know what I think - I'm tempted to go for the blueberry dark green one ;) - I agree with you, although I love nana's, they sometime thicken drinks too much to the point of being gloopy eww (although I used to love pina colada's!). Funny you should mention Almond Milk - heard about that for the first time the other day and am keen to try it. Thanks again for the smoothie recipe :D

youre most welcome dear! the banana makes it just too banana-y and almond milk unsweetened vanilla is divine!

My hair has gotten some of its old thickness back... And because my natural self confidence is higher, I stopped bleaching it several months ago, went back to my natural dark dirty blonde... And it feels better looks better, has grown a bunch and definately feels heavier too!!

I've had hair falling out like crazy. But in a good way. I'm growing more on top and my straggly bleached then dyed ends just can't compete so they are falling out. Right now it isn't too noticeable - just a little thicker on top and thinner near the ends. My hair has always grown slowly so I hope it speeds up a bit too or I'll be investing in a shorter 'do for a while.
