Since returning to college I hit the dreaded "Freshman 15" ... Again.
So is there any college students who want to work together?
I have been side tracked by the yummy college food and junk nights during late night studying but no more shall it be!
Let's help each other?

eating late is probably your worse enemy. I used to have a habit of that, but I countered the hunger with peppermints. They're sweet and they curb your appetite! and, only 20 calories a pop!0

Let's definitely help each other. I had that problem as well but now when I feel the urge I eat a fruit0

I'm one month into my first year at college and I'm finding it very easy to stay healthy. You just need a good routine and willpower. I live in a dorm so the only food I have in my room is my Fiber 1 cereal, and skim milk. Yes, the cafeteria food is tempting, but I always go for the salad bar or wraps. Also, the campus is very close to the ocean, so I like to go for jogs for about 80 minutes down near the water at least 4 times a week. I am NOT an athletic girl at all so walking/jogging is all I can handle. Whenever I see my friends eating their oreos or cookies at midnight and I'm tempted to eat them as well, I always think about how I'll feel in the morning...you know that feeling of disappointment in yourself.
GOOD LUCK0 -

I'm nowhere near water but I have a graveyard next to me. aha.0 -
I go to community college, so I don't have the dorm experience, but I don't have a lot of time between classes for lunch (I drive to another campus and swing by my home to eat for about 20-30 minutes) and it's really tempting to get cafeteria food. the other campus also has a little bagel shop with AMAZING cinnamon sugar bagels... and cupcakes... and student discounts. but I find that bringing snacks (especially fruits and veggies) and making quick sandwiches for lunch helps a lot. I only eat cereal for breakfast most days though and so I'm typically really hungry around lunch, though. I need to start bringing snacks to my morning classes too!
also, if you can find a copy at your local library or pick it up cheap online, the dorm room diet by daphne oz (yep, she's the daughter of dr. oz) is a really great book with guidelines and ideas for eating healthy while in college.0 -
I would love to do this with you! I'm 24 and have two kids, going through a divorce, things are a little hectic. Now I go online because it's easier but it is still hard ha ha! But I did go to univ of Texas and lived in campus and I know how hard it s, so if you want look me up on fb Ginny Hensley and you can add me0

College was the death of my body and still is the death of my body. I lived in the dorms for a year and I ate all the wonderful fried food and hardly ate healthy that started my weight gain. Now I am in nursing school with a hetic schedule and stress that causes me to eat junk! Now I am turning it all arounds so I can have my high school sports body back!0

need some motivation! In my last semester of school, want to look good for graduation. Gained so much from eating bad and partying too much!! Lets support each other0

Let's do this! My junior year I gained the freshman 50! Or so I am convinced, lol. I'm in my fifth year of college and have one more year to go because of degrees being dropped by the university and what-not, but I will come out with 3 degrees! I've lost a total of 40 lbs this year and vow to not let college get me down! Is this challenge for the rest of the year, or just a month?
SW (on MFP): 207
SW (10-3-11): 165.8
GW (Ultimate): 145
GW 1 (10-31-11): 160
GW 2 (11-30-11): 155
GW 3 (12-31-11): 150
GW 4 (1-31-11): 145
I am setting my goals lower at the moment. For June and July I lost 10 lbs each month, but as college started, I realized I was only losing around 6 lbs because of how busy I've become and I'm not having time for P90X anymore. I wanted to be 145 by the end of the year, so I'm still hoping for that, but if not, then these goals are what I'm hoping to achieve and maybe go beyond0 -
Well I was waiting to see if anyone wanted to do this with me so what do you all think who want to participate? One month increments?0
-
Yes ! is this like a challenge? how many lbs per month?0

One month increments sound good. And we can have challenges every week or a challenge of how many pounds to lose a month or something like that.0 -
I like that idea of doing it by month and having challenges0
-
I'm all for it! Does anyone want to take the initiative and create some sort of challenge? How bout something to aim for before halloween? Should we have teams?0
-
Sorry it took me so long to get back to this, I have had a bit of issues with family.
Okay so one month intervals. Starting this Friday and going on each after month on the same date.
Do you all want teams?0
