so i think i might try to switch from doing so much cardio to doing more weightlfiting. since i am not losing any more weight no matter what, i think i need to focus now on toning...... to do this what do i need to do exercise wise (do i still do some cardio, how much weightlifting and for how long) and do i change my calories to maintance or do i leave it to lose 1/2lb a week? Any advice and ideas, opinions, will be greatly appreciated!!!!!!!!!!!!! thanks

  • I don't think you need to worry about losing weight. Focus on a good exercise program for strength, endurance and a strong cardiovascular system. When you build muscle, you replace lighter fat with denser muscle tissue. Your weight will be what it should be(I think it is already close now).

I would suggest a mix of cardio, strength training and maybe yoga or martial arts.

I would make sure that you are cross training all the way around. . Make sure when doing cardio that you are not always doing the same type of cardio. . . Switch it up with different things , like dance, stair steppers, rowing machines, biking, treadmill etc. . . That way you are not always training the same group of muscles. . . or at least you are training them in a different way. . if this makes sense.

And yes. . I highly encourage weightraining throughout your body. . . Switch it up between upper and lower body workouts . . . This way you get the max amount of work from your workouts. . .

I wish you luck in your health and fitness endeavors. . Make sure that you are stretching as well as this is extremely important.
