Im just getting started... on exercising. I rented it from the rebox the other day and I sweated my butt off! Im really just curious if anyone else uses this for a workout and if you got any good results?? If I get good at it and feel comfortable, I might consider going to a class.

I go to classes twice a week (more if I can swing it!) and I loooove it! Now I'm licensed to instruct, and I've been trying to put some routines together

I've never tried the game versions, though. But I probably have to attribute a good portion of my weight loss to Zumba.

The Wii program is much slower than the DVDs or a Class. But if you don't have any other option it's a good workout, I avg. 140 for the 20 minute routines and about 180-200 for the 45 minute ones.

New to Zumba and wii. I had a lot of trouble learning on wii so took a class. Best class ever. It's fun and not nearly as hard to do as you think it will be.
  • I have the Zumba for the Wii. I tried it but found I'm too uncoordinated for it. So I've been using UFC Trainer instead lol
  • Thanks everyone. So far its fun, and not too much for me. I feel really good when Im done. I think when I start losing and can move around more, I might get the dvds or join a class. I really want to get in better shape and do Insanity! :)

I'm 5'5" 180 and when I did the 20 minute routine the other night I didn't get past 150 per my HRM. I can't even get into the target HR range. But if I take a class I get around 400/hr.

ETA - I double checked my entry for Wednesday - 147 cals for 22 minutes.

I love doing zumba on the wii. I burn around 175 for the 20 minute workout via HRM and cooldown. I don't do it by itself, as an add on to another workout. I would like to try a class someday.

You should definitely try a class!!! Don't worry about how good you are. There are people of all ages, sizes, and dance abilities in my 4 classes that I take weekly. When we mess up, we just laugh. It is a lot more fun live & you have to do the whole hour...plus since you are around other people you try your best and put all of your effort into it! Most places will let you try it for free for a week. I would really encourage you to check it out, because if you like it for the Wii, you will love the class 100 times more! :)
  • I just joined Curves, and they are going to have a Zumba class this winter. I will do that then. I may have to try my Wii and practice first lol
