Hi! My name is Kellie and I am new here. Just installed the app on my iPhone and plan on using it faithfully. I will be starting a new diet Monday September 26th which a Registered Dietician has put together for me. It is pretty strict so I thought it would help to have some friends to support me. I have a husband that eats massive amounts and never gains weight and he works the night shift so I end up eating at 2am or later with him which isn't good. I have recently learned I have very high cholesterol, am hypothyroid and on meds for about five weeks now. I have been told I need to lose about 50 pounds which I have gained over the past five years after staying very thin most of my life. I am 43 and ready to change things and get healthy again. Will be exercising at least 30 minutes every day of the week. Looking forward to meeting some great people here that understand how hard this is. Thanks in advance and very nice to meet you all. :)

    Welcome to my fitness pal! I have some issues with having separate food for myself and kids, and it's not always easy to just eat my food ie gluten-free and lots of produce etc. So, I can understand the issue with family members and the fact that they don't gain extra weight like I do.
  • Hi, I am with you. I signed up 3days ago but today was what I called a practice day however my intention is to start my diet faithfully and hopefully monday the 26th. I shamefully posted it on my Facebook just because I want the accountability and hope that when people ask about my updates it will be a good one. I would love to loose 20-30lbs. I have a friend that suggested this site and told me it helped her very much and she lost 55lbs!!! That is encouraging. She said it made her make better choices and now is much healthier than ever. Wishing you a successful diet.

    Welcome! MFP is a great tool for keeping track of diet, exercise, etc.! the support here is amazing! good luck on your journey to a healthier you!
