Has anyone lost weight from becoming vegetarian/vegan?

As for the OP (If you're still reading 6 years on) I gained 90lbs being nearly vegan. I was a vegetarian but I couldn't drink milk and rarely ate eggs XD. I lost the weight when I started eating meat again because that was the same time i started counting calories and learning new habits.
You lose weight eating a deficit, it could be low carb, high carb, vegan or what ever but you need a deficit. Eat vegetarian/vegan if you enjoy it or for the ethical reasons, not in hopes that simply changing will = weight loss, because that won't be realistic or sustainable if you enjoy animal products.0 -
I was a vegetarian for just shy of a year and I didn't lose weight.
I have a good friend who is a vegetarian and she's extremely skinny. But she eats just terrible food. Nothing but junk. So her portion sizes are what makes her thin, not her vegetarianism.0
