Hi MFP! I'm a bit confused as carbs and fiber - how it works. Someone recently on MFP had told me that if I was taking in 120g carbs per day, but also taking in 40g fiber.. really, i'd be consuming only 80g carbs?? I'm not sure if this is true but I just had to ask the lovely people here on MFP for their opinion!

I need to know this too. I am confused about milled flax seed. The box says two tablespoons has 4 grams of carbs, but the food tracker here refers to the exact product I have as "no net carbs" and counts it a zero carbs in my food diary.

I've not heard it expressed that way before, so I want to hear a more expert opinion too.

Subtracting the fiber from your carbs gives you net carbs....those are the carbs your body actually utilizes.
