Why don't you try the 1990 calories a day and see what happens first. Trying to lose more just sets you up to feel crappy when you don't. 2lbs/week is healthier for your body. The first few weeks you will lose lots of water weight if you start drinking more as well. You've come to the right place to lose weight gradually and get yourself adjusted to eating healthier and feeling better. Besides once you get close to your ideal weight you will go weeks with no loss. I have been 150 since August and I'm not sure what to do to get myself to lose more. I look ok, and it's my personal goal that I wanted to reach so I have maintainance as my goal and can have 1850 calories per day and have yet to eat that much. Still no weight loss for me. If I work out I'm aloud to eat more but usually I'm not hungry so I've even cut back on my working out. Be patient and get into the groove before worrying about losing more than 2lbs per week. Good luck losing!!!

2 pounds a week is a healthy week loss speed and it's not as slow as it sounds (honest).

If you lose weight too fast not only will you have excess skin problems (most likely) but you're more likely to put weight back on when you move to maintain. Plus eating too few calories at first will only make you hungry, cranky, and less likely to stick with the plan.

Mind, you're also likely to drop a goodly deal right at first just in water, providing you're keeping hydrated.

    A good read

If you mix your good diet of your 1900 calories and add in exercise (about an hour a day) you will be able to take off a good amount of weight af first. I will note, your body can't sustain a huge caloric deficit for long periods of time. As you progress, you will need to increase your caloric needs.

I will note, my friend was 280 and lose 60 lbs after 90 days of p90x. It's a great program and can help burn fat and build muscle.

I also agree with the excersize. You're more likely to succeed if you don't go too extreme in calorie restriction. I have a turbo jam dvd that I do that burns 1000 calories, its pretty intense, but then I can still eat the foods I like and lose weight! It will also help tighten up skin as it loosens during weight-loss :)
  • 2lbs is good...go for more..and it isn't hard...but ohhhh your skin can not tighten back that fast you will have some serious bat wings for Halloween!! Stick with your current goal and your body and your skin will be looking fantastic !!!
